Richard was born in Rossland, BC. He graduated from UBC law school in 1975 and was called to the bar in 1976. He has restricted his practice to personal injury since 1985. He is the past president of the Kootenay Bar Association, and was the County Representative to the Provincial Council of the Canadian Bar Association for 9 years.
With over 30 years' experience, Bill is recognized as one of the best lawyers in Canada for his work for injured plaintiffs. Bill has received the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association President's Award and has been recognized by the Canadian Who's Who for his distinguished contribution to the profession and the advancement of law.
Lawyer, Nelson and Castlegar
Originally from the UK, Mike obtained a BA (Hons) in Philosophy from Leeds University in 2007 before completing a Graduate Diploma in Law at City University, London in 2009 and his Legal Practice Course at The College of Law, London in 2010. After working for a niche family law firm for 3 years, Mike moved to Nelson in 2013. He has worked with us since that time, and in 2018 was called to the BC Bar.
Syrina was born in Trail, BC. She moved down to the Lower Mainland where she completed her high school graduation and the Legal Administrative Assistant Program. Upon completion of the Legal Assistant Program, Syrina moved back to the Kootenays, working for another personal injury law firm for 7 years before joining Spilker McNally Tucker in 2013.
Ghez has spent the majority of her life in the Kootenay area, only leaving for a short period to attend post-secondary school. She has worked for the firm in the Nelson office since 2015. She loves the outdoors, spending time with her family and friends, and her cat Jeff.
Brenda St. Denys
Brenda was born and raised in Castlegar, BC. Brenda has worked for Richard Spilker in the Castlegar office for over 25 years and is still smiling! Outside of the practice of law, Brenda enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and going for walks.
